Join NewClub and The Georgia State Golf Association at Rivermont Golf Club on Tuesday, September 19th, for golf, food, and fundraising to benefit affordable junior golf through Youth on Course in the state of Georgia.
FORMAT:
The inaugural Charity Classic will be a two-person team four-ball (better ball of the pair) If you don’t have a partner the Charity Classic committee will pair you up with a fellow Youth on Course Georgia supporter for a fun and memorable day. Prizes will be awarded to the team with the lowest four-ball score in the NET and GROSS divisions.
Founded in 1916, the Georgia State Golf Association (GSGA) has grown to one of the largest Allied Golf Associations in the country with nearly 320 member clubs and 88,000 individual members. With a mission to serve and advance the game of golf in the state of Georgia, GSGA offers numerous benefits and services to golfers and golf facilities including administration of the World Handicap System, course rating and measuring, education on the Rules of Golf, and a full schedule of statewide competitions for men and women of all ages and abilities. Other services include a statewide junior tour and adaptive golf program, award-winning Golf Georgia Magazine, management of the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame and a charitable foundation which administers two college scholarship programs and supports other growth of the game initiatives.
Youth on Course Georgia, an extension of GSGA, is committed to introducing young athletes to the game of golf - without concern for cost or circumstance. They offer affordable golf memberships to juniors aged 6-18, with rounds costing $5 or less. The non-profit also provides opportunities for growth through scholarships, leadership programs, and career opportunities.
Why Rivermont?
Rivermont Golf Club and the Cupit family have a long history of supporting junior golf, the GSGA, and the environment since the club was founded in 1973. When we had the opportunity to raise funds for the GSGA Foundation and Youth on Course in Georgia, they were eager to support the cause.
Reach our fundraising goal of $10,000, allowing juniors aged 6-18 an incredible opportunity to play affordable golf for just $5 or less per round at participating courses.
